Patio Time

Spring AND summer have come to Chicago this week. We set lots of records with a hot and humid 90 degree day midweek. It made me very glad that I had finished my patio.

I love both of these pots. First, because I got them at Homegoods for only $12 and second, because they are made in Viet Nam.

I love a morning at the patio table with a cup of coffee
and . . .

my Bible, journal and study. This summer I am studying Proverbs: The Ways of Wisdom by Kathleen Neilson.

I seriously love having Homegoods right in my neighborhood. Got these great cushions for $5 each and the darling iron table for $10.

Of course, we miss our view from our patio in Seattle (and the friends that joined us there.)

So we just pretend . . .

(Homegoods, again, for $5.)

What are you growing and studying on your porch this summer?

  5. Glenda, I love your patio!!! Love that with all your new things, you still have the tablecloth from Moldova that I bought with you. Makes me smile to see it in your new home.
Someday, I'm coming to Chicago to have tea with you on your patio AND go to HomeGoods with you.

  6. I am MAD for that green! Green is my favorite color, especially pison green, as they say in the mountains.
My goal is to read five chapters of the Bible each morning and read through the Bible each year. My Mom and Daddy are my examples; this year makes the 48th or 49th time Daddy has read through the Bible and Mom has a Bible study each morning.
Usually, I'm in the sunroom but during warmer months, I sit on the back porch so I can watch over God's creation.

  7. I love Home Goods ~ but they are Home Sense north of the border! They have such wonderful things adn oh so pretty. Can you send some of that heat my way ~ just blow it a little northeast and I will catch it. I am planning my containers now and hope to get them planted next week-end ~ weather permitting... I love a good cup of morning coffee and a good book on my back patio ~ I cannot wait. Have a blessed week-end!

  12. I love this post, Glenda. You make me want to redecorate my little outdoor spot as well. And I must admit, I am unfamiliar with the store you mentioned and as completely jealous. I am going to see if they have an online store so that I can share your finds!

Thanks for reading my blog and taking time to comment. You bless me.

  15. Man, I'm so darn mad that we don't have a HomeGoods here in Lincoln (although maybe a good thing? Perhaps I would spend too much money?). Your patio looks darling...so inviting. What a perfect place to convene with Him (although I must say...that view in Seattle was divine...).

You said you were #206 from the link party....I was looking all over for your post... You have a beautiful and serene patio. The view of the water is breathtaking, but I'm sure where you are now has sites that can take your breath away as well.
