My favorite way to use up the last bits of turkey

I love this post Thanksgiving recipe. Enjoy.

Turkey and Wild Rice Casserole

1 package (6 ounce) long grain and wild rice mix
1/2 pound bulk sausage
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup celery
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon worchestershire sauce
3 cups cooked turkey, chopped
1 cup dried cranberries

Prepare rice. Set aside.

Cook sausage, mushrooms and celery. Drain grease, leaving 1 tablespoon. Set mixture aside.

Add corn starch to drippings. Stir and cook one minute. Add milk and worchestershire sauce. Cook until thick.

Combine all ingredients in a greased casserole. Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

  1. Right now, this is
    making me wish I
    had leftovers.....the
    only downfall of being
    a guest when away
    for Thanksgiving!

  2. Oooh what a great recipe! I will have to try this! Thanks for sharing.

  3. It sounds yummy! Have just a bit of turkey left so may give this a try. Thanks a bunch! :)

  4. Thank you for the recipe! I'll definitely be trying it out soon. We didn't have Thanksgiving at our house this year so I have no leftovers. That's the drawback to just bringing a side-dish to my sis-in-law's house.

  5. I made this yesterday. It's one of my favorite things about turkey!

  6. Mmmm, sounds good. I made a cream soup with my leftovers...but, today, I'm breaking out the long grain rice for arroz con pollo!

  7. Sounds so good! I made a turkey lasagna with some leftovers but I have more to use up.

    Have a wonderful day!

  8. This makes me regret not doing turkey for Thanksgiving. However, I do have a small one in the freezer for sometime in December. Your recipe says "Thanksgiving in a pan" to me. Love the idea.

  9. sounds yummy. wished I lived close I would come
over. I haven't even had time to cook and am feeding the kids fast foods and processed junk. Just terrible! I just don't have time to do it all. In another week though it should be good!:)
    love ya!

  10. Oh no, I'd forgotten about this one.
Now I wish I had some turkey leftovers.
