Those Pesky Goodbyes

I like it (a lot) when the four of us are in the same city ... and even more the same house. Christmas has come and gone and we had a brilliant time. I quote one of our daughters, "It is ridiculous how much fun the four of us have together."

I totally agree with Charlie Brown, "I hate goodbyes. They make my throat hurt. I need a lot more hellos."

Christy has returned to England, Jenny is back to work and Dave is beginning a busy work season. I am so grateful to God, for the wonderful three weeks we had together.

How were your holidays

Linking with the lovely Suzanne at Privet and Holly.

  1. Hey Glenda! You have a beautiful family! And I hate goodbyes too! Always leaves me sad! Hard to let go when you love someone!

  2. Lovely family, Glenda and so glad everyone is safe and sound.

  3. Aww...I know that "in the same house" feeling. Praying your memories will give you joy. I love that you four have such fun together. That is a blessing and one I am thankful for too.

  4. Obviously we are in the same family. Grant left Saturday. I didn't go to the airport. I said goodbye and then ran up to his room and tore the sheets off the bed and super cleaned his room. Action takes your mind off it. Works for me! Plus you have a clean house. I remember one time when Dad and Mom were about ready to walk out the door to go back to the Philipines. When they came to say goodbye, I was under a table tightening a bolt that had become loose. Action takes your mind off it.

By the way, in the family picture one can really tell how much weight you have lost. Keep it up...or off...or going...or something! You look great!

  5. I put my son on a plane yesterday and sent him back to your big city. Sigh. I'm with you. And Charlie Brown.

  6. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time. I'm with you, I dislike goodbyes!

  7. You look great Glenda and so does the rest of the fam. :) What a cute picture! I'm so glad the 4 of you could enjoy 3 whole weeks together, what a treat!

  8. Nope, I've never been big on goodbyes either.

I'm so thrilled ya'll got to spend three wonderful weeks together catchin' up and havin' fun. That's what the holidays are all!

We celebrated our big bang up Christmas on the 31st here on the Ponderosa, it was fantastic! Worth all the prep work.

God bless ya and have a fantastic week sweetie!!! :o)

  9. Glenda...I know exactly how you feel! We are so lucky to have that time and now....we get to wait until the next time...can't come soon enough! Best wishes for a lovely week Glenda..
    Jeanne xx

  10. "goodbyes hurt my throat" is the perfect explanation for goodbyes. You're a good man, Charlie Brown!

  11. I'm happy for you, dear. Yes, Goodbyes are sad. Can't eait for Heaven, where there will be none of those G words!

  12. I love that Charlie Brown quote. So perfect.

We said our pesky good-byes in November at Thanksgiving time. It is tough to say good-bye. My parents are 89 and 90. When I say good-bye I always wonder if they will be another 'hello'.

  13. What a treasure that you have -- how ridiculous it is how much fun we all have together -- love it!! What a huge gift and yet those goodbyes...oh my...

As for me... I had lovely, lovely holidays.

  14. I know that feeling ~
    the lump in the throat
and the prick of tears ~
    much too well. I'm
    glad you had this special
    time with your family!

    xx Suzanne
