Those Pesky Goodbyes

I like it (a lot) when the four of us are in the same city ... and even more the same house. Christmas has come and gone and we had a brilliant time. I quote one of our daughters, "It is ridiculous how much fun the four of us have together."

I totally agree with Charlie Brown, "I hate goodbyes. They make my throat hurt. I need a lot more hellos."

Christy has returned to England, Jenny is back to work and Dave is beginning a busy work season. I am so grateful to God, for the wonderful three weeks we had together.

How were your holidays

  3. Aww...I know that "in the same house" feeling. Praying your memories will give you joy. I love that you four have such fun together. That is a blessing and one I am thankful for too.

  4. Obviously we are in the same family. Grant left Saturday. I didn't go to the airport. I said goodbye and then ran up to his room and tore the sheets off the bed and super cleaned his room. Action takes your mind off it. Works for me! Plus you have a clean house. I remember one time when Dad and Mom were about ready to walk out the door to go back to the Philipines. When they came to say goodbye, I was under a table tightening a bolt that had become loose. Action takes your mind off it.

By the way, in the family picture one can really tell how much weight you have lost. Keep it up...or off...or going...or something! You look great!

  5. I put my son on a plane yesterday and sent him back to your big city. Sigh. I'm with you. And Charlie Brown.

  10. "goodbyes hurt my throat" is the perfect explanation for goodbyes. You're a good man, Charlie Brown!

  12. I love that Charlie Brown quote. So perfect.

We said our pesky good-byes in November at Thanksgiving time. It is tough to say good-bye. My parents are 89 and 90. When I say good-bye I always wonder if they will be another 'hello'.
