Three weeks off-line (part one) ~ What I Liked

Three weeks is a long time to be off-line. It was a fun and refreshing break.

What I liked:

     1. I loved not dealing with my computer through multiple security lines. They are hassle enough, as is. And my carry on bag was much lighter.

     2. I loved having more time for reading (3 books and lots of magazines.)

     3.  I loved having more space in my day to walk, drink tea and have long chats.

     4.  I enjoyed the break from blogging, but am excited to be back.

     5.  I enjoyed sending post cards and letters ... the old fashioned way.

Have you ever considered a break from blogging?

  1. That was a real break....a long one too! I'm not at all surprised that you found so many 'likes'. It's so you to see the best in anything!

    Welcome back!

  2. I am excited you are back, Glenda! Oh, I missed you so. But I'm glad you had a great break. You know, I don't know that I've taken an official break, but if God asked me to, I would. I have definitely taken vacations and left a SDG post where others could visit, and I didn't make the rounds. Everyone needs a little sanity!

  3. Glenda, I think it's a good thing for all of us to consider from time to time. Step back and regain some perspective. I love all of those things you were able to do while off-line!

  4. Welcome back. I've taken very short breaks from blogging and although I enjoyed it, I missed it too. It did help me, though, to get over some of my obsession to post quite as often. Glad your fast was a good one!

  8. Man, am I glad to see you back in this space! You were MISSED, Glenda. Did you go somewhere fun? Like to see your daughter? I'm not sure I could do it for three weeks. And the very fact that I feel queasy about it is probably a sign that I should consider it! WELCOME BACK.

  9. The most I have taken is 2 weeks. It drove me crazy not to be able to see my email, shop online and of course, blog. But I did it and accomplished a lot of house cleaning and laundry. I also read a lot more, a few books and caught up on magazines. I do have to say at times I got bored and missed the "female connection" with blogger friends!

    Have a great week, Glenda!

    XO,
    Jane

  11. I'm signing off Facebook for Lent. I almost hate to admit how big a deal this is for me, which of course is a good indicator it's the right thing to do. That, and all the efforts in my head to talk myself out of it.

  19. I took 3 weeks off this Christmas, and it was wonderful. But you are right...I too missed the writing (and the community) and was glad to come back to it refreshed and ready. It sounds like you had a great trip!

  20. You're back! I didn't realize you were leaving on a jet plane. Hope you had a great adventure. I have taken several breaks from blogging. The longest was about eight hours!! Any longer, and I might have to be medicated!

    Best,
    Bonnie

  22. I knew you were off
    enjoying the coast and
glad you did it full force.
    I have scaled back on
    blogging for just the
    reasons that you mentioned.
    It's difficult to write about
life if you are too busy
    blogging to actually live it.

    Welcome home!
