A Creative Hospitality Idea

It is always a delight to be welcomed into a friend's home. And it is especially wonderful when that friend is Rita ... who has a gift of making you feel special.

Last night, after a cup of tea and a lovely chat, we said goodnight and headed upstairs to the guest room.

It was beautifully prepared with a cozy quilt on the bed, a little basket of toiletries (in case we had forgotten anything) and bottles of water (for a quick middle of the night drink.)

We felt loved and welcomed. These are fun ideas, that I have seen before and even done myself. But Rita had gone one step further ...

... she found a cute picture of our daughters online, printed it and mounted it like a postcard. There on the bedside table we were greeted ... by Christy and Jenny.

Now that is creative.

  8. We have a friend who prints little cards and puts them by the beds...they say: " As I made this bed for you I prayed the Lord would give you refreshing sleep. God bless you as you make this bed for the next person." "....He gives His beloved sleep." Psalm 127:2

I am sure he has never read your blog....

i really need help in the hospitality area. it's not my strong suit, but i know it needs to be, to serve the Lord like He wants me to.
    what a great reminder. :)

  19. The best....adding the photo! Hospitality is in all of us, but some of us need to work harder at it than others. Right now, I'm not doing so good....I'll work at it again after the move - whenever that is!

  21. I love this idea! I will certainly do this. One thing that I do if I have "vacation" guests is buy a stack of postcards of local views (like home of Garfied, Minnetrista, and the Indian statue) for them to use. I have them stamped so jotting a note for someone back home is quick and easy.
