I wish Anthropologie was a library

Sometimes, I still cannot believe that I really do live in Chicago. And one of those times it feels the most odd, is when I take the el downtown to visit my dentist.

After my appointment, I was in the heart of the city, so I decided to pop into one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie. The beautifully stacked books caught my attention today.

My favorite books at Anthropologie.

1. Design Sponge at Home by Grace Bonney

2. Creative Display by Geraldine James

 3. Interiors by Martyn Thompson

4. Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de la Fressange

 5. Lunch in Paris by by Elizabeth Bard

6. Handmade Weddings by Moyle

7. Fresh and Easy by Jane Hornby

 8. The Perfect Start to Your Day by Tonia George

9. Things I Wish My Mother Had Told Me by Lucie
van der Post

10. Things Good Mothers Know by Alexandra Stoddard

It would be so fun to have these books on my coffee table. What books are on your wish list right now?

  1. WOW! Very cool! I love, love, love Chicago! Especially around Christmas! I feel like it's our own "Paris" ... Not that I've been to Paris but I guess in my dreams... if that counts! LOL! Happy Friday! :)

  2. I wish I knew where an Anthropologie store was located! I have heard so many things about that store and have never been in one!

    Have a great weekend, Glenda!

  3. OOOH, I am with you on that one. I would love it if Anthro was a library, I would be there checking out weekly!!! Don't have any books in mind for you right now, I tend to be a reader, reading about 3 books a week (Dan works nights, so when kiddos go to bed, I'm reading!) I just get whatever is next up on the shelf in our library!

Hope you enjoyed your visit with family and are having a great fall. I am so enjoying the warm days with cooler nights. If only it could last a while longer!

  4. How cool that you get to live somewhere that makes you think WOW! I've lived in Santa Barbara County almost my whole life and we tend to take the beauty of where we live for granted. But sometimes, driving on Highway 101 to the city of Santa Barbara for work or to see our youngest daughter, driving right past the ocean I have to stop, look up to the heavens and pray out loud...ARE YOU KIDDING ME, GOD? This is SPECTACULAR!

  7. Des Moines has a new store in the historic district called Hinge. It resembles Anthropolgie. It's my latest hunting ground for fun things but I don't think they have any books.

I'd like to have The White Queen and The White Princess by Phillipa Gregory.

  9. Recipe books!!... now that I do a whole lot more cooking =) There are some devotional books, too, that I'd like to purchase as soon as the cash flow allows. For now, I read whatever is free.

Did you ever read books by Neta Jackson? Chicago is the setting and I think of you when I read them.

  10. My list at the moment is empty. That means I've been working too hard and need to better apply my time. I hope you enjoyed your holiday and are back full of vim, vigor and vitality. Have a wonderful weekend. Blessings...Mary

  11. Welcome back! I'm not a reader any more...I used to read all the time but when I went back to work 17 years ago I just was too distracted. Now with my blog and Etsy I don't make the time for reading. I'm lucky to look at our local paper while I'm drinking my morning coffee. :o) Enjoy your Sunday in Chicago. Should be beautiful.

  12. I love your numbers 9 and 10! Both look interesting to me. Just today, I was thinking I want to own the book I have on loan from the library -- London by Edward Rutherfurd. I love Rutherfurd's historical fiction, and I've read almost all of them. This one is a particular favorite. I want it to be mine!

  13. I have actually been in a reading frenzy lately and finished another book today. I have promised myself not to buy any more right now until the ones in my bookcase go down a bit.

I'm from Kuwait and every time I visit the US, I must go to my favorite store Anthro. Browse , pick few items, them must sit on one of the sofas to browse the books. If they had more sofas and sold coffee I think I'll never the store.
Thanks for your list and pix it was exactly what I was looking for.
