A perfect autumnal day

Last Wednesday was as close to perfect as a day can get, in my book. What makes a day perfect for me, besides that it is already my favorite season?

2. I spent an afternoon alone in my sunny kitchen making pumpkin muffins, autumn chowder and two apple crostadas. (one for us and one for a thank you gift)

3. We spent hours around the table, enjoying this delicious food, but even more ... enjoying each other.

our girls
This weekend, the adorable girls are off on a road trip ... time to catch up, after Christy has been in England for one year. Perfection.

Come back on Thursday and I will share these simple fall recipes with you.

Wishing I could share this autumn meal with the Soli Sisters.

  10. Sounds like you had a fabulous time! What a treat to have both girls there and delicious yummies to share as well. I tried to make crostadas a few years ago - total failure, but they sound so delicious! I do love this time of year where the hillsides seem as if God used a giant paintbrush, sweeping gorgeous colors around His huge canvas. I made pumpkin pies when it first started turning cooler - something comforting about the smell and taste of pumpkin! I'll have to come back and try your crostada recipes.

  11. Ah, what a fabulous time with BOTH girls and delicious yummy food! I'm so glad ya'll had this time together. I made crostadas once and it was a total failure, so I will have to try your recipe! I love this time of year when it seems that God uses a HUGE special paintbrush to splash rich beautiful colors across His hillside canvas.

  12. How wonderful to get to be with both girls. I so wish I could have an autumn meal with you as well. I love autumn too. Spring is my favorite season b/c I am a sucker for hummingbirds and tulips, but autumn is a close second since I love rich, earthy colors and pumpkin anything! :) I can't wait to learn how to make a crostada...sounds yummy!

  21. Loved seeing pictures of your beautiful family. So glad they are home for a visit. (Matt must be lonely though!!! I know Sophie is still in facebook contact with him, he was the perfect leader for their missions trip)

I adore those crisp fall days that I can spend in my kitchen. Can't wait to find a quiet day to do so!

Thanks for your emails and prayer!
