Need a lift? need some fun? ... borrow some kids

Whenever Dave and I need a little lift, a little extra fun, a little just about anything, we invite Devin and Cole over. We have them one Sunday a month and if our schedules allow, they come early and stay all night ... double the fun.

Both of our girls have been their nannies at different times, so we have known them since they were little. And we have loved them for a long time.

This picture is from our day together in December.

They are always good for whatever ails these two sixty year olds

Need to invite some charming kids over

  1. Little ones make my day so often. Aidan and Zoe will be my company today. Yesterday it was Paityn and Brinley and Aidan Zoe!

  4. What a great time! Sure fills that grandparent gap while you await your own grandkids. My nieces are older now but I still love craft or movie day ~ hopefully they will never grow out of that.

  5. Thanks for the reminder, Glenda. It is time for me to call my little neighbor Lila to come and bake "tookies" with me. She always brightens my day! Looks like you had lots of fun with Devin and Cole at Christmas. I am looking forward to "Mimi's Valetine-Making visit" to Chicago real soon. Rita

  6. That's a great idea, Glenda. Once or twice a month, I invite Kimberly, my friend Mary's daughter, to spend the weekend. We go shopping (usually to buy her some clothes), make meals (good for me as I usually "graze"), watch wonderful movies and talk girl talk. It's good for both of us!

  9. Truth be told, I'm pretty happy to get back to our solitary life after all the kids we've had in the house for a month :)

  12. LOL! I have my dynamic duo (both 8) that I love to hang with, but since they live here, I am more than happy to share on occasion as well. :) Fortunately, their older siblings (ages 18-23) do a pretty awesome job of enjoying their company too.

  13. Those kids are SO lucky to have you in their lives. I am sure that the time you are investing in them now will mean the world to them someday when they're older. Never hurts to have more people to love them!

  14. four charming kids live at my house all the time...adding more just makes more...fun?! seriously though I can see how it would be great to have kids over when the house longer houses them daily... a great idea :+0

  15. I had two today here for a couple hours. I got to play with them while Melanie cleaned my living room for me. I think she got the bad end of the deal! I have a pile of tissues by my chair (I'm leaving it for Pawpaw to see). Camron (2) was so cute pulling them out, blowing that tiny nose, laying it by the box and pulling out another. I've been smiling all afternoon!

"Your" children look so sweet working on their projects.
