A few weeks ago, I told you about the book Listening to Madeleine, which was my beach read. Fifty people who knew her wrote essays about Madeleine L'Engle.
(They were pretty honest, too, since they wrote after she died.)
This morning in my Bible reading, (Acts 10) I was impressed with an even more important essay, and it was written about Cornelius.
When God was looking for someone to use for an important task, he chose Cornelius, who was:
*a thoroughly good man
*who led everyone in his house to live
worshipfully before God
*who always helped people in need, and
*had the habit of prayer.
What great things to be known for ~ helping my family to worship God, helping my neighbors and having a habit of prayer.
Very cool, Cornelius!

ReplyDeleteAwesome credentials, Cornelius!
ReplyDelete1. Listening to Madeline sounds AWESOME!
ReplyDelete2. You just inspired me to give Acts 10 another peek.
Happy Sunday to you, Glenda.
Yes, cool. I'd feel completed if those four characteristics could be said of me. Thoroughly good is a tall goal.
