New, New and ... New

Life has been ... interesting around here lately. Lots of new things. Delightful new things. It is one of the reasons there has not been much space in my head for blogging.

Want to hear about it?

New thing #1: In January, Dave got a new job.

It is a huge job, by the way. As Global Outreach Pastor of our church and its' five other campuses, Dave is busy, using his gifts to full capacity, and can I say, having a lot of fun.

This is at Park Community Church, the church we began attending when we moved here 4 1/2 years ago. It happens to be where my gifts are being used, as well.

I love it when that happens.

(We miss our teammates at WorldVenture.)

New thing #2: We just bought a home.

We thought we would rent our first year in Chicago and then purchase a home. But we were not ready ... until now.

The first house we liked, fell through, after inspection. The very next day I found "our house" on line, scheduled to see it right away, made an offer on the spot and won a bidding war. We move at the end of May.

(We have loved working with a great realtor, Nate Buttrey)

New thing #3: You know we love being grandparents. Love it.

So, we are thrilled that Lillian is going to become a big sister in October. Yes, Daniel and Jenny are expecting their second baby.

(My sister has been calling them Lilly and Billy. We will see.)

We are grateful to the Lord for this season of our lives.

What is new at your house?

  5. Congratulations, Grandma! You're going to love having another grandbaby. And I'm thrilled that you got your house. I can't wait to see it when you are ready to share it with us. Our new grandbaby - a boy - will be born in October, too. Too bad you and I can't get together and celebrate! We will do that in Cannon Beach next year!!

  10. What's new at our house? Well, with mother in law in Heaven, our last 'boarder' is gone....First time in 14 years we've had the house to ourselves. It's a new chapter. Don't know what we're gonna write, but it'll be good.

So very happy for you and your season of joy!

  11. Lilly and Billy...brings a serious smile to my face! Congratulations, Glenda, on your new home...love it! It's spring here, bless God!, and I'm getting farm and house work done. Probably visiting parents to help when Dad has surgery and then thinking about a camping trip.
Life is good. It's taken me a long time to say it again, but, yes, life is good.

  12. What awesome news all around!!

I am glad that Dave is able to use his gifts - and the people who are going to benefit from those gifts are so lucky to have him in that position!

A new house for you makes me want to plan a trip to Chicago sooner rather than later!! I cannot wait to see photos in the meantime!

A BABY!!! I am thrilled for Daniel and Jenny! Such joyous news!!

  19. Glenda, I am way, way late to read this post (we have been so busy with family - including our granddaughter's kidney transplant - and also with Cru these past few months) ... but wanted to still congratulate you on the new job for Dave, the new home, and the new grandbaby on the way!! How very exciting!! And hope and pray that the moving is going well, as it is probably in process as I write this.
